RMH Hosts Second Look Good Feel Better Session
Richland Memorial Hospital is proud to host a second Look Good Feel Better session for women who are currently going through cancer treatments.
Look Good Feel Better is a program offered through the American Cancer Society. It is free to women who are in cancer treatments. During the Look Good Feel Better session, a licensed cosmetologist will teach beauty techniques to participants to help them manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatments.
The session scheduled at Richland Memorial Hospital will take place the evening of July 12 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Heim Room (right inside the new main entrance). Any woman who would like to participate must pre-register for the event by calling 1-800-227-2345, or by calling Liesl Wingert, RMH Outreach Specialist, at 395-7340 ext. 4608.
During the session, beauty professionals will help women with:
• Skin care and makeup application
• Tips on wig selection and wig care
• Dry skin, discolored nails
• Scarves, turbans and hats
• Style tips (video)
Each participant will also be sent home with a goodie bag filled with many items to help with the above listed issues.
In addition, RMH has a wig bank. Women who have had cancer or are in active treatment can get a wig free of charge. Liesl will be available that evening to answer any questions participants have about acquiring a wig.
Look Good Feel Better sessions are limited to 10 participants, so please call Liesl at 395-7340 ext. 4608 or 1-800-227-2345 at your earliest convenience to pre-register.
