In your will
Including the RMH Foundation in your will is a very simple process and by making a bequest (a gift in your will), you can help support Richland Memorial Hospital for years to come. You might consider giving specific property (such as real estate), a specific dollar amount, or a percent of your estate. You may use your will to benefit the hospital or medical area of your choice by instructing that the foundation receive a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or a remainder amount. By making the RMH Foundation aware of your plans in advance, we are able to fully understand your wishes. Please consult your attorney and financial advisors as appropriate.

Matching gifts

Many employers have matching-gift programs through which your generosity to the RMH Foundation can be multiplied. As a non-profit organization, RMH Foundation is eligible for many matching-gift programs of corporations, foundations and other organizations. If your gift is eligible for a matching donation, please provide that information with your gift.

Gifts of Grain
Area farmers sometimes prefer to make a gift of grain rather than a gift of cash.  Whether it is a specific number of bushels or an entire load, your gift of grain is welcomed!  Please contact the RMH Foundation office at (618) 395-6088 for additional details on this unique gift method.

Stocks and other property
Gifts of appreciated property can be particularly attractive as a way of avoiding capital gains taxation on stocks or other property that has grown in value. These gifts must be made through a transfer of ownership to RMH Foundation prior to its sale. Please contact us to arrange a broker-to-broker transfer.

Gifts of appreciated securities offer tax advantages including forgiveness of the tax on capital gain and an income tax charitable deduction for the fair market value of the securities. You also can make gifts of property such as real estate, life insurance, retirement accounts, works of art, jewelry and valued collections. These gifts provide tax advantages and may require independent appraisals to meet Internal Revenue Service (IRS) guidelines.

In memory or in honor
Any gift can be made in memory or in honor of a special person or event (perhaps an anniversary or birthday). Such thoughtful gifts provide a way for you to express your sentiments in a meaningful way that will also help ensure quality healthcare for people today and in the future. When making your gift, please indicate the name of the person you wish to honor or memorialize and the special event if applicable. We will be honored to send a notification of your gift if you will also include those names and addresses in your note (gift amount is not disclosed). You may want to make this gift using our Online Donation Form or download and print this form to mail with your gift. If you have any questions please call (618) 395-6088 for assistance.
