Hospice of Southeastern Illinois, a service of Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois, provides choices for people facing terminal illness, allowing them to live their final days at home with comfort, respect and dignity, surrounded by friends and loved ones.
Hospice involves the patient’s family and loved ones in the plan of care, providing assistance and support to the primary caregiver. Our hospice team members make frequent home visits, and there is a nurse on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Although home care is the primary emphasis of the hospice program, services can be provided to patients living in nursing homes. Short term respite care within the hospital, as well as inpatient hospitalization, are elements of hospice care if needed and determined necessary.
